IDS 2025: Wow, what a trade fair!

IDS 2025 is over - and Team dentona is back in Dortmund! What a week it was: more than 2,000 exhibitors from over 60 countries, over 135,000 visitors from all over the world and, right in the middle of it all, our dentona stand, which was really well received.

3D printing resins for dental labs

We are particularly proud of ouroptiprint-family, which we have expanded to include four new 3D printing resins. The response has been overwhelming! Whether optiprint interim for interim dentures, durotec for stable occlusal splints, mattec for precise models or sportec for customised mouthguards - the demand has exceeded our expectations. As a family-run company with decades of experience in materials, we have channelled all of our expertise into this product line, which is produced at our headquarters in Dortmund.

CAD/CAM composite milling discs also for splints

In addition to the 3D printing resins, we naturally also presented our extensive range of composite millingoptimill-range. Our composite-based milling materials can be used to cover all possible indications - from thermoelasticoptimill memosplintfor splints through to temporary restorations and various resin solutions for the digital workflow.

Aidite Zirconium oxide for dental technology

Our zirconium oxides from Aidite, especially the polychrome 5Y-TZP with its natural colour gradient, met with great interest. The combination with the Bionic Stain/Glaze finalisation concept produced impressive aesthetic results in a minimum of time.

SHINING Aoralscan 3D and Elite intraoral scanners

There were many intraoral scanners at IDS 2025, but the quality of data acquisition and ease of use are crucial. Two innovative intraoral scanners from SHINING impressed visitors to our stand. The Aoralscan Elite is a 2-in-1 system that combines intraoral scanning and photogrammetry in one device. Thanks to its high-precision 3D image capture, the Aoralscan Elite enables precise diagnosis and treatment planning. The SHINING 3D Aoralscan 3 uses high-resolution 3D technology and artificial intelligence to capture the complete morphology of teeth and gums. Intelligent algorithms automatically filter out superfluous data. The intraoral scanner impresses with its simple operation, streamlined software and fast scanning speed at an attractive price.

We demonstrated the complete workflow from scan to finished workpiece together with our partners ASIGA and RapidShape(3D printers),imes-icore(milling machines) as well as smart optics and Shining 3D (scanners). And nothing works without software - in addition to the established CAD programmes, we also showcased clever solutions that go far beyond the standard. One example is our didex modelling software, which ensures precise printed models and harmonises with all common CAD systems as a stand-alone solution. Even complex requirements can be easily realised.

Thank you to all visitors, partners and our fantastic team! After five days of continuous work, we are exhausted but happy. Going out for dinner together in Cologne in the evening, being the first ones at the stand in the morning - that welds us together! And the many good conversations with customers and interested parties confirm this: With over 40 years of experience in dental technology and a focus on end-to-end digital workflows, we have our finger on the pulse of the times . Now it's time for us to follow up, cultivate contacts and implement the ideas we've gathered. The next IDS is sure to come - for now, we are delighted that we have mastered it so successfully!
