dentona Patent granted: Wearing comfort and fracture resistance thanks to thermo effect

Thermoelastic CAD/CAM resin memosplint Version S

dentona AG has achieved an important success: the German Patent and Trade Mark Office has granted the Dortmund dental specialist a patent for the thermoelastic CAD/CAM resin memosplint Version S. Thanks to its thermo-effect, the material provides patients with a high level of wearing comfort and at the same time offers dental laboratories and dental practices a high level of reliability.

The patent protects the special material combination of the milling blanks memosplint Version S, which have proven themselves in everyday laboratory use. The thermoelastic, transparent and tasteless material is suitable for flexible and fracture-resistant splints as well as for milled clasp temporaries. The decisive advantage for patients: When the mouth temperature is reached, memosplint Version S becomes more flexible, adapts to the tooth situation and sits tension-free. Despite this flexibility, the material retains its high tear and fracture resistance. The integrated memory effect ensures that the restoration returns to its original shape after deformation. "With this patent, we are safeguarding our material expertise, which forms the basis for our high-quality products," emphasises Carsten Wilkesmann, CEO of dentona AG. "This patent protection is an important signal for our customers: they can rely on receiving the original and benefiting from its unique advantages." In addition to memosplint, the portfolio also includes memopink - a thermoelastic CAD/CAM blank for interim restorations based on the same material expertise. Both materials offer tension-free wearing comfort, high aesthetics and are easy to reline, polish and repair.

Security through patent protection

The granting of the patent emphasises the long-term development strategy of dentona in the field of advanced CAD/CAM materials. This protection not only offers the company planning security for future material innovations, but also gives users the certainty of working with a reliable partner who continuously develops materials and sets high quality standards.
