optimill 3D Pro Zir is a highly efficient, premium ceramic material. It is based on an economically sophisticated concept for the fabrication of fully anatomical crowns and bridges. The blanks are available to the user in 16 shade gradations, similar to the VITA Classic shade system, so that all common tooth shades can be implemented. The material has a total of six layers to imitate a natural colour gradient within the selected shade level. In addition, there is a smoothly decreasing translucency gradient, which allows the user to achieve a natural translucency in the enamel area, while the desired opaque effect is achieved in the cervical area of the tooth. The translucency is 57% in the incisal area and 43% in the cervical area. This means that optimill 3D Pro Zir provides even higher incisal translucency than cubic zirconia or glass-ceramic.

The additional different strength values within a zirconium oxide blank make optimill 3D Pro Zir a revolution. In the tooth body, the flexural strength is over 1050 MPa and then gradually decreases from layer to layer to 700 MPa in the incisal area. With this gradient in flexural strength, the technician can fabricate a stable restoration without having to sacrifice the desired high translucency in the incisal area. The unique combination of properties is what makes optimill 3D Pro Zir superior to cubic zirconia and glass-ceramics, which have less translucency and less flexural strength. For the first time, the goals of stability, aesthetics and functionality can be optimally achieved simultaneously with one material! Optimill 3D Pro Zir is the ideal material for monolithic fabrication in particular due to the gradients in translucency and strength.

The finely adjusted zirconium oxide enables a homogeneous result with a strength gradient and high flexural strength in the cervical area. In combination with Biomic Stain / Glaze, all-ceramic restorations are given the special aesthetic effect of 2D pastes with moderate viscosity and 3D pastes for texture effects, combined in the stain-layer procedure. The optimill 3D Colour Plates are made of the same material as the restoration and show how the colour will look on the restoration. In combination with the colour indicator optimill 3D Shader Matcher, made from real 3D Pro teeth, a colour difference in the tooth shade is avoided. |
